"Only after you've lost everything, can do you anything." -Tyler Durden

"Human Life is suffering. Suffering is caused by greed. Only through knowledge can we give up this greed, and become pure beings, enlightened" -The Buddha

Greed is hope. Allow life to happen; in this you will be free.

I disagree
To hope is the same as wishing
You want was has not happened
So if you had no hope, you would have no thrill in experiencing what is unknown to you.
Each day would be bleak, and life would fold upon itself
leaving a shell of a soul to wonder aimlessly

To be free is not about what has no bind on you, but instead being able to break from things that do

I agree that the loss of hope can be manifested in a sense of freedom and I am positive that this is a reality for some. My disagreement consists of what a person would consider "loss of all hope" and what "freedom" really means to them. In short loosing all hope only frees you mentally there in no where on the planet to live in total freedom. Its all in the interpretation of language.

If one's hope is linked to tense expectation, the latter would tend to be frictional.

"When you've got nothing, you've got nothing to lose."

A purer form of hope is gentle, guided by aspirations and desires.

Carol Dweck's "Mindset" treats rigidity based on ego fears as a dis-ease which may limit learning. In a sense, if a hope is a dis-ease or even historically a disappointment, your position makes some sense.

Would note a reconnection with higher self/more pure hoping can be established via dreams. "Watch Your Dreams," Ann Ree Colton, is worthwhile for this. In other words, one doesn't have to be locked in to the "hope is restrictive, therefore is better to be without hope" cycle. "Climb the Highest Mountain," Mark Prophet, is also good for this.

regards,

j.

I do not agree. Here are other endings to that phrase that is more realistic, and true to life.
Losing all hope= is abandonment of the cause, and is therefore ,defeat
Losing all hope= is resignation to ones darkest fate, and death
Losing all hope= is allowing evil to reign
Losing all hope= is the last step before giving up the fight.
Losing all hope= means tha bad guys win.

there may be countless human beings in right here who've a distorted view on existence and what's incredibly substantial yet subsequently i'm in right here. I attempt and help those with there issues and it would be super if i might desire to coach a number of those human beings extra approximately God. some human beings have been misled of their ideals yet whilst all of us in simple terms provide up on those human beings devoid of attempting to proportion the certainty we at the instant are not from now on proper than them. what's worse incredibly no longer understanding the certainty or understanding the certainty and not sharing it.

Maybe not loosing, but realising yourself from earthly, magical, and ungiven promises that may not be accomplished but keep chained and willing. Taking off the hope is freeing yourself for what could or couldn't be.

I disagree because to me, hope is the perception of at least one desirable path to the future. If you lose hope, then you are trapped in a present with no alternatives.

Yes. Hope, along with ‘want ‘and ‘need’, are conditions that perpetuate the experience of wanting, needing and hoping without fulfillment.
The true power is in the knowledge.

I understand why it would be freedom, b/c if you lose all your hope its like you are free of what you have to do in order to get the thing you hope for e.g. lets say someone hopes for freedom and they lose their hope of freedom, they'll be free of hoping...
