These things are measured in dollar amount... liquid and non-liquid assets.
A person could make 10 million a year but spend 15 million therefore still be in debt. That just means that person is financially irresponsible and does not apply to the equation.

GNP is a misnomer because it is the poverty level that must determine the standing of a country.
