No. I've had a few sprained ankles and I just try to walk it off. I usually have pain for a few days, but it gets better pretty quickly. Maybe the first day or so, try to keep it elevated when you're sitting and ice it.

No. You keep an ice pack on it for the first few hours to keep the swelling down. Then bandage it with an ace bandage, firmly, but not so tight that you cut off the circulation. Keep it elevated when possible, and stay off of it for a few days, using a crutch.

It would depend on the severity of your injury, but normally on a sprain, no, one wouldn't be needed. Just for comfort sake, might be fun!

USING A MEDICAL BOOT WOULD SPEED UP THE HEALING PROCESS TREMENDOUSLY AS WELL AS PROTECTING THE ANKLE FROM FURTHER INJURY. HOWEVER, IT IS POSSIBLE TO HEAL WITHOUT ONE - NOT RECOMMENDED.
