I don't think having oral sex will cause you to have an infection but I would rest your body until the prescribed time. Before you resume intercourse, I would have your doc. check you out & make sure that your o.k. to do so. Sometimes, the uterus can still have tissue from the miscarriage & that might get infected, if left in your uterus for any length of time.

Naughty girl! Lol!

Seriously though, the miscarriage gave your repro system a trauma or the condition produced to the body by wound or shock of physical injury. It must ge given time to heal or recover from the punishment it went thru. This is why you were told by the doctors to avoid having intercourse. This means, nothing should go through your vagina, it being part of your reproductive system.

However, what the doctors are actually preventing is the danger of childbirth too early or too soon after your miscarriage. Your uterus or the part where the baby was implanted was injured when you miscarried. If you have sex too soon, your egg could get fertilized by your partner's sperm and without a healthy site for implantation, this could lead to another miscarriage. This is disastrous for your general health.

Now as to your partner's saliva. . . he has natural bacteria in the mouth that is good for the mouth. Unfortunately, it isn't good for the vagina. You didn't say how old you are, but generally the vagina produces mucus that serves as protection. The younger you are the more mucus you produce, so the more protected you are. But if you do get infected, it could only be a urinary tract infection (UTI) that resolves on its own. If it doesn't, then you should see a doctor. You shouldn't get chronic UTI. That too would be bad. Good hygiene usually prevents this.

Hope that this helps. Behave now. Two weeks isn't that long.

This is a really stupid question.
How can oral sex affect you down there because to the best of my knowledge when a woman has a miscarriage it exits through her vagina and not her mouth.
So what makes you think that by having oral sex which takes place in the mouth you can get an infection between your legs or do you think you'll get an infection in your mouth because of your miscarriage?
Whatever you think it just doesn't make any sense.

Well, I know that a miscarriage is a horrible thing, because I experienced one with my partner, but I really don't think that you will get an infection, I even think that you can have sex, but really wouldnt you rather wait for just 2 weeks, and be safe. I mean christ your child just died how can you even really think of getting it on??

It's always a possiblity that you could...
Did you get prescribed antibiotics? If so, you probably don't have too much to worry about.
