I'm having mixed feelings about the Mitchell Report:

I think either it's going to be a much wider reaching report than most people are assuming.

On the other hand, it could be all smoke and mirrors, only exposing the players that are already guilty in the court of public opinion.

Neither would surprise me.

I think Bonds will be included in the report REGARDLESS of Mitchell's findings about him. Even if it requires a special "we couldn't prove anything" section, Bonds has been too high-profile simply to ignore completely.

Without getting into the "I could care less" mode - here goes:

Giambi of course. He is the only one we know for sure that spoke to Mitchell.

No other 'name' Yankees will make the list; Steinbrenner will see to that (bet ya!!) Not even Clemens.

McGwire, Sosa, Palmerio, Juan Gonzales.

NOT Bonds! Two reasons. #1: Still has drawing power if he plays in 2008 - and #2: Would cripple the case of the Federal Gov. against him - they won't let it happen.

Lastly, probably some big-time pitcher and/or a player that everybody thinks of as a super, standup kind of person.

IMHO.

Who really cares, for every one player with the finger point, there will probably be 2 or 3 who did the same thing, under the radar. Baseball owes its economics of today to steroids, and knew what was going on. If you go after the players, then you best go after the owners, managers, trainers, and executives all around the league.

If you worked somewhere, and someone kept stealing big dollar items, would you say something? If you did not, then you are just as guilty as the managers, owners, executives of baseball, and so on, for knowing what was going on, and not putting a stop to it!

I'm guessing it will be like the Warren Commission on the Kennedy assassination and withhold many facts and give us the single, magic bullet theory!

Millions of documents will be lost and hundreds of otherwise branded ballplayers will be set free. Let the conspiracies begin!
