my mom called by accident. she was making an international call and dialed 991 but instead dialed 911. and the funny thing was that a police office was nearby my house and rang the bell and asked if everything was ok.
my mom said yeah and then realized that she probably dialed 911 by accident.

No. I called 911 once and my boyfriend hung up on me. In several minutes we had officers at the door demanding to be let in and asking if anything was wrong because they'd received a call. Prank calling 911 isn't funny in the least, that phone call may of prevented another person from going through, which means a life could of been lost. Maybe a little dramatic sounding here, but it's true. And it does happen.

Most 911 services have caller ID now. Not all of them.
I wouldn't do it because we (EMS) have to answer your stupid calls. And I can't go help the old guy having a heart attack cause I have to make sure you are fine...JUST IN CASE.
How would you feel if you NEEDED 911 and couldn't get anyone cause they were off on a STUPID call?
Plus, you can be charged with misuse of the emergency system. Are you ready for juvenile probation? If not then I wouldn't suggest being so dumb as to tie up emergency services so you can get a laugh. Go watch You tube or something.
Use your head.

Well not 'prank' called them but I did accidentally, don't ask me how because I'm not sure, but somehow when I was like, 7, I accidently dialed 911 into the phone, then realized immediately what I had pushed in, so I immediately hung up after pressing the last 1. They called me back. I was on my home phone and I answered, my heart rushing, and the lady asked me if there was an emergency, so i said no, and they asked if someone called, i said no, she asked if someone was prank calling, so i said no ma'am no one called, so she asked me if it was someone trying to use the phone and accidently did it and i said no. then she said alright have a nice night young lady and i said bye and hung up. SCARY. I didn't mean to do it though, i meant to press something else like 914 or something and it came out 911. it sucked and was freakin scary. DON'T DO IT.

Thy have better than caller ID. Thet have the address and history of calls made from that number, as well as recordings of the same.
It's not a prank, it's disorderly conduct, which is a misdemeanor, and they will send an officer to the house to do a well-being check.

No.
I accidentally called them though. My pal had a cell number that started with 991 and I just started with 911. So, anyhow, I totally thought the 911 operator was my friend being an idiot. Sooooo, gosh, it was horrible. I figured it out once the woman was getting REALLY pissed off. Then when I looked at my friend's number and understood what I had done, I totally blushed and was like ", I'm soooo sorry....sorry." and hung up. I felt like a real idiot.

Yes, when I was 10 years old, because there was a song about 911 being a joke. However, it is pointless to prank them, since you are taking away time from the operator who really help someone.

No, I haven't. The people who operate the emergeny service are there to help those who truly need it. Prank callers may prevent urgent services to someone that despirately needs some form of emergency help. It is a tough job and someones life could be at stake. This service to the community should not be abused. Rescue people risk their lives to save others and they should be commended for a job well done. Hope this answer helps some. :):)

I never 'prank' called, but I did call once just to see what would happen. I guess I was about six, and I got scared and hung up as soon as I called. They called back instantly, and I got a little lecture from my Mommy.
I felt bad as soon as I called, and I never tried that again. I eventually became a CNA, though, and have had to make a few real emergency calls. :( And I STILL feel guilty about that time when I was six!

No.
It's a crime, it's a waste of the operator's time, and you could very well be tying up a line that someone may need with a real life-and-death emergency.
I'm having trouble thinking of anything more immature than prank calling 911.
