Right now, considering current game lineups and what each console has to offer, the Xbox 360 does have the advantage. This may change in the next year or two depending on what Sony does, and also depending on what Microsoft does as well.

the only thing the PS3 has on the 360 is floating point precesses. that means yes the 360 is better. you can go to gametrailers.com and go to 360 and they have videos of the same game on the same screen so you can see the difference between the 2. The 360 is much better see for your self. Not to mention Xbox live and all the games the 360 has. you can even rent movies over the 360 and stream them to your xbox and watch them. they just released and update so you will be able to download the first xboxs games to the 360 harddrive and play them.. would you like me to go on? well one thing the ps3 has the 360 dont have is a blue ray dvd drive. but the 360 had a add on HD-DVD player for 179.99. do the math and the buy the HD-DVD player makes it cost about the same as the PS3.

How can a console with inferior technology be better than the PS3? How can a console that has a 33% hardware failure rate be better than the PS3? The Xbox 360 is not better than the PS3.

The Xbox 360 is nothing more than a original Xbox with updated graphics. The Xbox 360 has no added feautures or anything. At least Sony upgraded and added new features to the PS3. There's nothing really "exciting" about the Xbox 360 console itself. The only thing that's keeping the 360 afloat is Halo 3 and Gears of War.

The Xbox 360 is a great console to own. The PS3 is being outsold by the PS2 STILL. The Xbox 360 has a huge library and great games at that. Not only a lot of quantity, but also quality. Yes, the PS3 may be able to play Blu-Ray DVD's also, but you could buy an add on for the 360 and watch HD-DVD's. I love the Xbox 360 and even had a chance to get the PS3 a WHILE ago and I passed because I love my 360 so much. BUT! I guess it's all based on if the person prefers Microsoft (XB360) or Sony(PS3).. :)

And Xbox360 still has great games coming out even still. Some titles called Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, Assassin's Creek, etc..

Also, don't get the Sony Fan boys going on this. They don't seem to shut up about it. This is a question waiting for battle..

No. By this time next year, MS will really show it's age. It's already beginning to show it's age. Just look at the new games for the 360. Have there been that much of an improvement between this year's Halo 3 and last year's Gears of War? No. But for the PS3, there's going to be a huge difference between this year's Heavenly Sword and next year's Metal Gear Solid 4. The thing about the Playstations is that developers think they've taken every graphic ounce out of the Playstations only to find out that the Playstations still have some juice left. The same will be true for the PS3.

Most games for the PS3 haven't even begun to take advantage of the Blu-ray disk, while most games for the 360 are already taking up the entire DVD-9 disks.

The PS3's big guns haven't been released yet, while the 360's big guns are released.

HD-DVD is a joke. MS supposedly supports HD-DVD, but when it had a chance to support it by including it in the 360, what did MS decide to do? Leave it out. Why? Because HD-DVD isn't a proven format. Now HD-DVD is in a losing battle with Blu-ray and MS could help HD-DVD by including it in the new 360 (perhaps the Elite), but once again, MS decided not to include it. Why? Because it's still an unproven format.

And then there's Michael Bay and his hatred for HD-DVD and MS. When Paramount made the exclusive deal to produce HD-DVD, Bay said he wasn't happy that Transformers will be made for HD-DVD. And then recently, he called out MS and blamed MS for trying to destroy both HD-DVD and Blu-ray by making the war last a lot longer than it should. It's going to be a war of attrition. Bay said MS wants to destroy both HD-DVD and Blu-ray in order to force consumers into digital downloads.

I've been asking this question all weekend, considering buying one of them. I've been doing some research and 360 wins. Better graphics, more exclusive games, XBox Live, HD DVD, cheaper price, more worth the price as well. The PS3 is slightly over-priced; limited backwards-capability. And less exclusive games (previous Sony exclusive games are now on the 360). I am a Sony fan, but they dropped the ball on this one. Its a big PSP. (PSP is cold tho!)

I think Xbox is better because it is less expensive and has much more games than PS3 although PS3 does have better graphics, occasionally but Xbox has Halo 3

Yes. And heres some 32+ reasons why:

A church, phones, diabetics, blue hedgehogs, tail, sex, nudity, languages, extreme violence, romance, food, a cathloic, guns, modems, mouses, speakers, screens, paper, printers, all furniture, an MMO, a remote, and its all bundled with a wireless controller, hi-def wires, a 20GB hard drive & thats only the short list. Give it another try, but keep it away from heat. Oh, & just get an elite, no chance of overheating or red ring syndrome. And more memory. And finally, it has more higher reviewed games.
