I need to paint a small structure that lays outside. But is very cold right now and snow will come soon. Will the weather have an effect on the paint? should i wait until the spring? thanks

Latex paint will dry to the touch in about four hours at 50 degrees temperature. You need four hours above 50 degrees after you finish painting for the day. Just check the weekly weather forecast and be ready to paint.

Yes, it can be done.
It just depends on the temperature how long it will remain at the desired temperature of the instructions on the can.
If it's too cold according to paint instructions and if the structure isn't too large,
cover it with a tarp to it to help prevent rain, snow or sleet damage.
Good Luck!
You must not live is MO it has rained for the past 24 hours and has rained every weekend for 3 weeks and some days in between.

Previously, paint needed to be kept at a higher temperature to avoid problems. However, with newer technologies, the temperature can be as low as 35 with most paint. You must take care that the temperature will not be below 35 while the paint is drying.

yes...I have painted at 15-20deg There is a alcohol based paint you can get at ACE or other stores...I have used latex too that was from a warm garage and I did painting without any problem....its dries really fast and use thin coats and maybe switch out cans to keep them warm every 15 mins or so......

latex paint is not recomended below 60-50 deg. oil base is possible, but there may be surface condition issues, would consider tarping the structure before painting or skip until spring.
