I am 25 years old and was just diagnosed with PCOS about three months ago. I have been taking metformin which has made my periods more regular. We have been trying to concieve once agian for about 18 months with no sucess, after losing two children a few years back. The doctor said that I may have to start fertility medications to become pregnant. This diagnosis has brought great stress. will I ever become pregnant with this PCOS and without possibly taking the fertility medicine? atleast now i know why I haven't been able to get pregnant.

I am 25 and TTC with my hubby and my OBGYN just told me that i might have PCOS...i havent had a period in 4 months so i am taking something to get it started...i know the feeling of thinking you will never get pregnant!!! I have heard that PCOS is the easiest thing to treat when it comes to infertility....I do know someone who got pregnant with pcos, but she took clomid to ovulate.... Since I dont ovulate, I am willing to take clomid too...
Do you chart your cycles? That will help you to see if you ovulate, because if you arent ovulating then you will need the fertility meds....
Also, i have hard that losing weight will help decrease the effects of PCOS on the body and regular exercise will help as well.....
I hope you are able to get pregnant soon, and that in no time you have a baby in your arms!

A girl I used to know very well was 25 with PCOS. In fact she had it so bad the doctors told her that her ovaries looked like cauliflower. Gross huh? Well she scheduled a surgery for six weeks out for a surgery to do a laparoscopy to check everything inside. The day of the surgery came and went. 4 days after her surgery she found out she was 5 weeks pregnant! She was pregnant through all that! So yes you can get pregnant! GL!!

Yessss you will get pregnant with PCOS!!

It took my husband and I about 20 months of having sex every other day while I was fertile (days 10-20 of my cycle...start counting day one as the day you start your period) to conceive, but it happened right around the time they started talking about fertility drugs! Hope it happens that way for you, too!!
(Btw, we went on to "accidentally" have a son, too ;-)

As long as you are ovulating on your own PCOS should not affect your ability to conceive. My doctor stated that PCOS affects ovulation typically.
