I am very fortunate that my dentures stay in without using adhesives or pads. I have great suction to hold the upper in place and have learned to use my tongue and cheek muscles to keep the lower in place.

I do find if I am going out to some special function I might apply a small amount of fixodent extra hold powder to my lower just for peace of mind. I find the powder holds very well and not very messy when I take my teeth out at the end of the day.

I hope this helps
