ok seriously who buys a $300 flashlight and where do they sell them? maybe you should do some investigating before you tell your mom, unless it was covered with jewels or had a built in mp3 player i think she might be full of it!!

If you want to keep your friend, then you need to find a replacement. You need to ask her for the stats on the flashlight so you can buy a replacement. Like was it a Chanel flashlight? Maybe Prada?! There's no way I could see a flashlight costing that much, you're being ripped off.
I'm willing to be that she's pulling your leg, so you can tell her a fib like, "I don't have that money, and my mom wants to know what kind of flashlight it is, so she can get you a replacement". If she's being a pain, ask her parents, or have your mom call her parents and chat.
Check under your bed and go crazy searching for this flashlight - maybe it's some crazy family heirloom...
Here's a $4800 flashlight on sale for $4160!! http://www.tactical-store.com/ts-fs-fl-b1r-bk.html Who knew flashlights were that expensive? I'm going into the flashlight business!!

Ask the friend for the name/brand of the flashlight, the model, whatever. You need to know the exact flashlight, so you can check around for the best prices before you talk to your Mom. $300? Very few cost that much.

Haha poor kid. Yeah I've seen flashlights go for as high as 500. You get what you pay for. I actually have two 220 lights hangin here around the house. It's very possible to have a 300 flashlight guys. Do a little research.

Ask her what brand it is and then I would look online to find it. I would replace her flash light as close as I could to the original, but there is no way a flashlight costs that much! Don't give her the cash. Tell your mom though if you suspect trouble from your friend. I don't think she will be that angry if you come clean. You learned from your mistake, you just have to face up to it.

It's not your mom's responsibility to replace your friend's flashlight. . . it's yours. You're the one that lost it so you can workout a payment plan to reimburse her for the flashlight. First, find out how much it really cost. I would ask her mom and/or dad.

let me get this strait. a flashlight........$300. There is no way. unless it is like some hugemungus spotlight, like the ones on helicopters, there is no way. I would have a little talk with your friend. if she/he is going to charge you that much for a little flashlight, then is she/he really the friend you think she/he is!?

Sounds like my mother's $2000 vacuum. Sheesh! Tell your friend you would like to see a receipt for the flashlight or something that lists it as costing that much. I think you are being messed with.
