Spyware. Be careful as some users do not realize they have Spyware. Here at the lab a well known quote is "99% computer error is Human error." There is the occasional hardware faults, however spyware can infect many computers before the user has noticed, and become too late to solve what could be a simple problem. Recommend Windows Live: One Care. Gives AntiVirus/Spyware, Data Backup/Rescue, Firewall Protection, and Anti-Phishing for up to 3 PCs for around $50 (after 3 months free to try) along with having protection from a company you already know. (where some other brands sell only anti-virus for around $40)
Note: Do not forget to uninstall your previous protection.

The most common problems are caused by the user trying to load and run a program that is not compatible with their system, and not keeping a good antivirus program active. The easiest way to get bugs of any type is to go to sites like utorrent or limewire. It is very easy to embed code on data and set it to activate at a later date or time. Since it is then an internal program, it is easy to turn off the antivirus.

Most problems are caused by people making the mistake by yes downloading wrong programs from strange sites but as for limewire and torrent sites I have been using them for a long time and have to say if you know what to look for you will never have a problem never got a bug or virus from any of the sites . yes also a good anti virus program is a must and keep it up to date as for most errors its the one between the keyboard and chair .

I would add:
>>>not setting a restore system date before and after adding or deleting a new program.
>>>not Restarting after installing updates or new programs.
>>>not being careful to be case-specific.
>>>clicking on unknown links
>>>bringing a file home and opening it before scanning the device on which it was transported
>>>most common mistake - carelessness!
