Impressionistic art is my all-time love - I adore Renoire, Degas and Monet, too... For me it's like magic, because these painters managed to catch some moment of sheer beauty, a ray of light, a movement, something in the air, and expressed that on canvas. Their pictures are tangible (not like abstract art), and yet ephemeral...
Symbolism - like Edvard Munch's pictures - for this tragic perception of the world.
Speaking about genres, I especially enjoy looking at portraits - for me it's very interesting to see what people were like in different epochs.
Seascapes!!! :))

realism more than anything....i like being able to tell what the picture is supposed to be! i cant stand fine art because its so completely random and only the person who made it knows what it means. i mean, ok, there were coffee cups hanging from the trees at my art school one year?? cmon, give me a break. anyone can do that!

In 1998 I was in Paris for my own exhibition in Miromesnil.
I spent two days in the Louvre, it still wasn't enough time.
I think being in the physical presence of masterpieces by artists such as Rembrandt and Michelangelo was profoundly spiritual and surreal.
It does something to you. I felt unworthy to be in the presence of such greatness. It was an overwhelmingly emotional experience for me.
