Bush invaded Iraq
Violence is down cause of the surge
NK shut down nuclear reactions
Iran stopped their nuclear program shortly after the invasion of iraq
Crude oil production in Iraq is at pre war levels currently- Crude oil is declining currently
We have full diplomatic relations with libya
Looks like the middle east realized the US isnt a force to be reckoned with, and we will bend our constitutions to invade your country and create many starbucks and burger kings.
Saudis foiled numerous terrorist attacks so did US.
I hate bush but looks like he is doing something right, kind of hard to deny.

why do I hate bush?
hes the most stupid pres ever. he just has or had good advisers and his dads guidance.
he was mediocre in everything he did. c student barely reported for military duty etc etc
he became president because of the support from his dad and friends and all the hanger ons that come with politics. its the same way why hillary will win.

one thing i will add about bush, is that he doesnt give in to pressure when he believes he is right.
everyone in their mother is wanting to bring the troops back and abandon all hope, even with congresses futile attempts bush still manages to get what he wants and stay the course no matter what

First, thank you for being objective..
Second, I hate most politicians regardless of party affiliation equally for their lies and duplicity.
Third, I normally vote conservative.
Chi Guy, as for cherry picking the facts, did you cherry pick past the violence of 911? Or does violence against civilian americans not count.
Bush is no close relative to Einstein, but good leadership is as much about knowing your limitations and putting together a good team as it is being a knowing it all.
I have to admit I had my doubts before the surge.... I am thankful that Bush had the backbone to rise above the critics and change the Iraq military leadership and adapt a new strategy there. I am afraid that I would have caved under the pressure, were it my decision to make.

The conflict isn't over yet, meaning the winner continues to be unknown. Like maximum wars, some battles are gained; some battles are lost. everyday it may well be honest to declare that Bush is slightly forward interior the conflict on terror. actual Osama Bin weighted down has made little progression on his important objective, which improve into the overthrow of corrupt governments interior the Mid-East to get replaced by ability of the caliphate spanning the entire Ottoman Empire of previous. There are actually 2 fledgling democracies in Iraq and Afghanistan that are actually not out of the woods yet, yet are reason for tempered optimism. The Sunnis brutally suppressed the Shiite in Iraq for some years so it is going to take it sluggish for the revenge and counter revenge to play out. yet maximum heavily, Bush has secured coorperation from the two the Saudis and the Pakistanis in this conflict on terrorists. because of the fact Bush's objective has been containment, it ought to be judged a fulfillment. because of the fact OBL's objective improve into expansion and restructuring of the political map of the mid east it ought to be judged a failure. of direction the methods and execution of the yank protection rigidity marketing campaign might have been crisper. The acsendency of Iran as a hegemonic potential interior the area is problematic. yet on a similar time the conflict is being gained. although, it is not being gained as straight away because of the fact the US elctorate might desire to like, and it is not being gained without casualties, so the Bush adminsitration has attracted dissimilar grievance. yet is Bush triumphing the conflict on terror: sure he's!

It's difficult to win any guerrilla type war where the enemy is difficult to identify because they merge with the general population. But, I believe President Bush has made progress against the Islam extremists, and the situation in the middle east has improved. Iran continues to be a problem and I believe will remain so until the present regime is ousted.
I also believe that if an objective analysis is performed regarding the middle east, the results of President Bush's actions would be positive, in spite of the negative happenings that are emphasized by the liberal press.

All you got from liberals is the same sad talking points, 'war on terror' semantics, 'body bags' (oh, I didn't know people would die in war because I'm a complete moron), conspiracy theories they can't prove but continuously spout, the excuse that the American media is 'dumbing down the country' and the BBC is God, even though they've admitted they report with a bias, and the one that can't think of anything to say but 'he's ruining this country!'
You may hate Bush for whatever reason, but attempting to talk rationally to 'your side' is impossible. At least you saw the light to some extent. Hating him is a trend and is not based on any intelligent thought whatsoever... as you can see from the answers.

The answer in Iraq is political not military-Gen. Pratarus. No progress on the political front at all.
Was it the "surge" or the fact we engaged Sunni tribal leaders at last-A move army intelligence recommended in 2004 and vetoed by Bush and Rumsfield.
There was no terror in Iraq.
He let the Real threat in Afghanistan go underfunded and undermanned so he could "do" Iraq. We're paying for it now!
Bin laden will be making movies when Bush is gone.
Our military is in the worst shape since the 1970's-check the websites. he refused to increase the size until last year.
Most observers outside Bushes circle consider IRAN the big winner of bush's Iraq war-HE made them a regional power I could go on but----

Well, you have to be in it to win it. I think we in America and most of the West ignored this war that already had been declared on us long enough. We paid a pretty high price for that on 9/11.
I would not say we are winning it but at least we are no longer loosing it. At least we are finally engaged in it.
For that he deserves great praise. As would the Democrats in Congress who voted to do it. Unfortunately, they cannot share in the victory due to their decision to attack Bush for trying to win it.

Well, it's refreshing to see someone who's objectivity is not clouded by hate. It's so hard to find.
I don't think he's winning the war on terror since terror is huge and all over the world. I think though he has done many things right in this area, as you have listed, winning the war on terror is going to take a long, long time, if it's at all possible. (See, though I like Bush, I can be objective as well.)

If your getting your news from TV or the newspapers you are being misled and that isnt rare in this dumbed down society. What we are doing in the middle east has been in the works for years. This nation is less free than it has ever been and we are happy to go along with lies that send our kids to their death not in the name of freedom but in the interests of the elite that own the media and the government. But alas this falls on mute ears so place head back in sand.
