Hi, I am leaving for Disney on Monday and coming home on the 17th. We are wondering what we can expect the crowds to be like at Universal Orlando and Disney World? We heard its a quiet time of year and are really hoping that is true! We are travelling from far away and we have never been before. :) Very excited!

i was actually just there this morning, i was at MGM which is normally a less crowded park, and it became very busy about 10 in the morning.

The best time of the year for visiting Disney World is the last full week before Thanksgiving week. The crowds are tiny,

December - First three weeks in December:
Cooler in temperature, but crowds decline due to preparation for Christmas. The decorations will normally be in place, stores will still provide excellent sale prices from their Thanksgiving Day Bonanza Sales, and many parks will have started their Christmas Parades or firework displays. Check individual attraction websites for specific information.

The Magic Kingdom has added an extra evening time-honored tradition in 2007 — a total of 19 evenings. The Magic Kingdom will "re-open" after regular park hours from 7:00 until midnight on November 12, 15, 16, 25, 27, 29, 30 and December 2, 4, 6, 7, 9, 11, 13, 14, 16, 18, 20 and 21 for this special event.
Christmas – December 25 – 31:
Busy, Busy, Busy but the entertainment and décor are fantastic!

We have been over the Thanksgiving holiday and what we found is that using the "fast pass" sent us thru the parks in a breeze! Highly recommended. We visited all the rides/shows we wanted to see, by the time we did all that it was time for our first ride and every other ride/show fell one right after the other! Dont know if it was luck but its worth a try!

It is busy most all the time, BUT now is the right time. When school is out it gets crazy, so going now before the Christmas break will be good.

Disney is crap and always always crowded with plenty of loud and annoying tourists. Please don't add to them, come to the beach!
