That's fantastic. Although I think the standard should be lowered to "recklessly" or "negligently" because too many people can plead ignorance. By lowering the standards, it forces business owners to play an active part in ensuring that their employees are here legally.

that law will go into place in Jan/08. .
the penalty is from probation to a 10 day lost of their business licenses .........where is the penalty? all they have to do, is to say they didn't know and the law won't apply.... this just a way to relieve the minds of citizens.....
personally i think its a bunch of bull/crap.....
no way is our government going to stop the illegals from coming nor working in the US...
to much money involed....
our government pee down our necks and tell us it's raining.

I think it should be the FIRST time you do it "knowingly." By the way, in some states that is already true.

That's already true, and it's the case for 1st time as well. I'm not sure if you lose your business license, but there are penalties under IRCA.

hmm interesting, i believe the way we handle immigration is all wrong, i dont support immigration because its not to great for the economy, at the same time i dont support building a wall or a mine field on the border. i think they should lose their business license just because they are supporting non-citizens and taking advantage of immigrants.

i think why should mexicans get a free ride when they are illegal but black people still struggle everyday to get along with white people and make it and we are legal. don't hire them.
