or at least have to buy some tax software like turbotax. either way, it bothers me that i have to pay money so that i can then give more money away to the government. i mean ok yeah it's possible for you to do your own taxes but it's hard unless you have a degree in accounting or something.

Hiring someone to do your taxes is an option that you do not have to choose. You should instead invest your money to learn how to do it yourself or go to your nearest post office or library and get the forms and do it yourself with free help from the IRS. Though it may sound like asking a crook to do your finances, they really have some good free help at their office...

Go to the library and get the forms you need and do it yourself. It isn't as hard as you think. If you do have trouble, you can call the tax help number for the IRS and get assistance for free.
