If we would meet one, it could look totally different from us or quite the same. If the big bang theory is true, then won't the aliens have DNA like us and possibly look like us? Thanks for answering!

...if I look in the mirror all I see is a hot and sexy human!

it simply depends on what kind of environment they live in. Including gravity, pressure, temp, day / seasonal cycles, local chemicals, age of the species, weather and such.

DNA didn't form from the big bang directly.
like I said it depends on what kind of chemicals they have readily available.

complexity drives the creation of life, so I'd expect some even more complex differences between "them" and humans.

considering all the DIFFERENT forms of life one planet like earth came up with, shows the chances of them looking JUST like humans are VERY slim.

(NASA claims if humans lived in space with 0 G, they would evolve after 2 generations into being that no longer had legs. our legs would turn into basically arms instead, not to mention the problems human brain development will go through in zero G)

The true anwer to this question is, "We just don't know."

It's human nature to assume that a visiting alien would/could appear simliar to current Humans on Earth, having similar looks, height ranges, etc.

However, let's look at this question a different way...

"WHAT IF aliens were to visit the Earth ~60 million years ago, before the presumed asteroid impact that devasted the planet?... What would they have found instead?".
(Remember, they may assume that Earth inhabitants could possibly look like them!)

They would have found immense dinosaurs (as large as a small building) and other smaller-sized creatures - even some cockroach ancestors back then were the size of modern day humans! (Yuck!).

Therefore... just as an alien visitor can't assume that "we" on Earth would have looked like them, we Humans can't assume that they would look like us.

A planet's chemical makeup generally dictates the "evolution" of it's biological makeup... basically limiting IF or IF NOT a DNA sequence can form, and if so, in what ways that sequence is allowed to propagate... whether it can evolve or not, or whether it must remain at-best as a bacteria form. Who knows - the possibilities are endless.

For added thought... the famous Drake equation attempts to approximate the chances of Any intelligent life being capable of communicating (in any format) with Earth beings.
For the entire Milky Way galaxy, the Drake equation estimates that there are only TWO (2) possible civilizations that could have evolved enough to hold advanced communications technologies.... and WE are one of those 2.

With luck we'd someday be able to find the other civilization. .. whether friend or foe... to answer this question of appearance.
However, Einstein's theories of Relativity are another problem... the ability to even arrive here from across the galaxy is virtually impossible from both an Energy and a Mass perspective. But that's another question altogether. :)

Cheers!

True science is a long way from legitimizing aliens, their existence, and contact with them because of the physical limitations involved in communication and transportation to even the nearest planet outside our solar system.( I'm not saying that interdemensional travel or some other kind is not possible in the future, its just not possible at present) Oddly enough this question has been tackled before. Its ludicrous to assume that aliens would resemble us i.e. two arms, two legs, etc. Its just the context from which we can approach the question that we are most comfortable with. I would say that aliens not only look stranger than we imagine, they would look stranger than we CAN imagine.

area of it fairly is loss of mind's eye, area of it fairly is in basic terms being unfamiliar with biology and deliberating the shown fact that something which evolves on yet another planet could have 0 to do with the way life stepped forward in this one (whether, as autoglide shows, the international has situations such as earth) however the main important contributer is Hollywood. For the two between the above reported motives, technological information fiction writers in Hollywood continually portray extraterrestrial beings as humanoid (even the gigantic computer virus like Alien nonetheless has 2 legs, 2 palms with hands and a mouth). area of their reasoning is likewise value variety, with the aid of fact this is plenty much less complicated to portray humanoid looking extraterrestrial beings, on condition that its usually purely a guy in a extra wholesome. you would be conscious those which you notice returned and returned (such as each species on famous individual Trek) seem the main humanoid with the aid of fact the human beings making it have even much less room of their value variety. once you're a famous individual Trek fan, even nevertheless, it could interest you to understand that there is easily an episode of the subsequent era which recognizes this and can provide and clarification for why each and all the numerous races are humanoid. As for technologies and components, that relies upon. Their technologies would develope in accordance to their needs, which may be consistent with their biology. Take your mind's eye a strategies and think of of creatures which do no longer go out interior the forged state, yet truly gaseous or liquid. A creature like that easily shouldn't return up with the comparable technologies we've. An underwater intelligence of any variety would be held returned while they get to an commercial point with the aid of fact they might't precisely artwork with electrical energy. on the different hand, the chemical components are the comparable everywhere in the universe, as are the regulations of physics, so its possibly an develop sufficient civilization would additionally use nuclear potential, or chemical rocket engines.

Not sure how you get from the Big Bang theory to alien life having DNA like us.

The number of possible amino acids, proteins, and enzyme combinations that could form life is HUGE compared to the number that have ever existed on Earth.

Alien life, developing in a different environment with different element abundancies and temperatures, will likely not look anything like us.

Look around and observe the diversity of life in this planet alone.

The universe uses the same template every where.

My opinion is that intelligent beings able to develop technology will evolve to a shape similar to ours. Head, eyes, mouth, extremities.

big bang and DNA? huh?

due to the extraordinary number of stars out there, its likely there is alien life... but so? we are very likely to never know.

watch "E.T." if you want to see an alien, its a great movie.

If aliens exist they would probably look very different from us, because they conditions of gravity, light, temperature will be probably different. How? Maybe taller, smaller, with a different body.
