Ignored... without a doubt !! there is so many things in this world that i need to do or want to do --- and i could definitely be happy doing them alone and without interruptions. I'm not one of those people that need others approvals or companionship.

I can not believe hat anyone has said persecuted!

It’s obvious to me that these people have absolutely no idea or understanding what being persecuted means.

I’ll try hereto giving a glimpse of persecuted and ignored.

If one is ignored than one is free!

If one is free than one can best put one’s efforts, strength, knowledge, understanding, will power and all resources that one does have to full use without any bothering @#?&*~ and so on continuously stuffing things up for one.

And then one may gets to accomplish all that one dreams of to so do or at the very least one has the best chance to give its best efforts and should make some serious head way.

On the other hand loosing it all, never ever manage to accomplish anything at all as well as fighting all one’s life to get out or stay out of hell for the want of persecutors is the result of being persecuted.

And much much more!

So horribly so that I’ll spare all of you the agony and hell that you’d experience just reading all other possible under persecution.

Ahhhh, so many possibilities!

If I were persecuted for having done a good humanitarian deed, vs. being ignored while living a life without courage, I would choose persecution.

If I were ignored while having done a good humanitarian deed, vs being persecuted for a senseless purpose, I would choose to be ignored.

If what we are doing is right, then that must be the preference, to be ignored or persecuted is someone else's choice and may well not be in good judgment. We have to be driven by within and embrace our own actions, consequences come as they may.

Good question!

Interesting question - me like!

I would rather be ignored because if one is ignored one can still lead a life free from abuse, pain and suffering. Where as these things could be commonplace if one was truly persecuted.

Ps I don't like anyone would really asked to be persecuted. Just asks the Jews!

Thanks for the question, made me think for a while.

Spineless types usually fall silent--from fear when persecuted, from despair when ignored. Their words are generally forgotten. But people with character persist in either case, and are often rediscovered/rehabilitated by later generations. Schopenhauer was ignored by the Hegel-worshiping establishment for most of his life; Fred Hart was never taken seriously by the art "world"; both were prolific geniuses whose reputations have grown with time. At the other extreme, a whole generation of Polish underground poets like Zbigniew Herbert were routinely persecuted by the communists, only to be apotheosized a few decades later. Schopenhauer became bitter and surrounded himself with poodles. Herbert pickled his liver with vodka. Personally, if given a choice between vodka and poodles, I'd probably go with vodka.

Ignored. I tired of persecution, so definitely I'd rather be ignored.

If I am ignored, it is if I do not exist. I'd rather be persecuted - then I'd know exactly what I'm up against and i could fight back.

I can beat persecution, I cannot win if I do not exist.

Here is my poem to answer your question.

"My Childhood"

My childhood
ridicule like barbed wire
how did the children know this word
contaminated
this word contaminated
they threw at me like a volleyball back and forth
they didn’t drop the ball
contaminated the word holds
some memories are never forgotten
would this break you, reader

That’s how I learned the power of words,
the holiness of each word
each word like a statue
each word like a holy pagan god
that’s how I know the acidity of each word

the science of brute force
the torture of ridicule
the graphic design of those childish pagan gods
Were those children my pagan gods

Dredging up these memories from the sea beds
from the mud oozing between my toes

Contaminated heard in the classroom, playground,
the street where I lived, in the elevator going home,
this word followed me wherever I went
how would you bear it, reader

No whispers, no shame
the word said out loud
without barriers
with pointed fingers
with proud laughter
how would you suffer, reader

They accused
I stand falsely accused
like Piggy in the Lord of the Flies
Now and forever the eternal outcast
Now and forever absolved from fitting in anywhere
With brute force I write these words

There's this poem, it's called "giving up", that my talented friend wrote.

He talks about trying everything that he can to be a good person, and how he always screws it up.

He asks out this girl and is turned down. He's helping his friend move and drops a chair on his foot. He tries to spell something in class and gets it wrong. He does all these things wrong and is played off to be a fool. Then, in the end, he says he might have come across as a fool but he's trying to do good and isn't going to give up on that.

I'd rather be ignored and not "give up".

Ignored. At least I do not have to deal with the **** thrown at me if if I'd be persecuted. I can go on with my life happily without getting too much attention from "unwanteds".

I would rather be ignored, God knows I persecute myself enough as it is.
