I have a florida cooter (water turtle) and it used to be in a 10 gallon aquarium. I just got a 33 gallon aquarium and was wondering if he is going to grow the size of it. I can't let him get that big!! Thanks.

No! Reptiles will not grow "to the size of the tank". They may become stunted in size from stress and illness. Moving to a larger enclosure and providing other better quality care can improve overall health considerably.

Animals don't grow to the size of their enclosure. Find out the average size for hte turtle, and that's about how big it will get give or take to some degree.

Well the size of the tank does have effect on how big they grow. But he won't grow until his stomach touches the side of the tank. But if he does grow significantly get him a bigger tank, or he will be stunted (not good).

turtles wont stop growing if you put them in a small tank. Look up how big they get. they will stay that size no matter if you put them in a huge tank or a tiny one
