how do you think tebow will do in the pros? Since i've lovingly dubbed the Heisman the 'How is most marketable at the next level trophy', it has no impact to me. But I am curious on how Timmy Teacup would do. Lets say he could go in the draft this year....who would he go to? How would he do? How would they use him in the offense?

it just doesnt matter. the heisman has nothing to do with a players projections as a pro. it is for college footballs best player as seen by the voters of the award.
college football is more like high school football than the pros.
how ill tebow do as a pro? he reminds me of vince young. the pros wanted vince to consider a position switch, but he made it clear not to draft him except as a QB.
tebow still has two years of eligibility left. but if he has a year like vince did in 05 he will probably come out. i think the pros see tebow as a running back or a wide receiver and it's way to early to say if he will succede or not at any position. QB, WR, RB, any of 'em.

I have to say you all make valid points about strength of the others defense, but the kid is putting up these "cute numbers" in 1 half of football. The only 2 complete games he has played in were VA Tech and Oregon St.. The other candidates are very deserving and do play in tough conferences, but Kellen is no joke! Why do all the sports writers love him and a few internet know- it -alls think they have something figured out. I would have to say, don't quit your day jobs to analyze football because you really have no clue. And no one this conversation has anything but an opinion, and my opinion is, let the professional guys take care of the voting and just watch the games- you might learn something!!!

I actually think that the Heisman voters do a pretty good job of judging it on the basis of who is the best/most valuable college player. Way too many NFL crapouts to call it an indicator of next level success. College football is college football, not the NFL junior. Possible NFL success doesn't even enter into the voting process.

He's Vince Young.
Maybe Tebow's a little better as a thrower, maybe a little slower as a runner, but he's Vince Young.
And Vince is having some scattered results.
Given the same circumstances, and assuming Tebow doesn't go to a team that wastes his talents (a la David Carr in Houston) he will perform just as well, and just as poorly at times, as Vince Young.

If he would go into the draft this year there would be a small chance he would go to Dolphins...just cause he's from Florida and that would draw fans into an empty Dolphins Stadium. He's not going to be a huge name, but he's not going to be a bust either. It really depends on the team. If he goes to a sucky team...he wont be a huge name. If he goes to team that can help support him and give him the ability to run and throw....then he's got a shot. Its to early to tell now. He's still got 1 more year to prove himself more.

He will suck...He is a classy guy, but I think Darren McFadden should have won...but, the Heisman curse goes on...So, I'm glad in that respect that it wasn't McFadden...

I dunno... Heisman winners don't have a great overall track record in the pros. I can't see a team using a #1 pick early in the draft for him.

He's a slower Vince Young, but tougher. He has a brain and an arm.

He won't do anything in the pros. He can't throw the ball good enough for the NFL. He has a better chance at playing fullback.
