There appears to be few values taught in our school system whatsoever. While most schools still allow the Pledge of Allegiance, I feel as though that is on the way out as well. The words “Under God” are already pretty much done. The National Anthem is on its way out as well.

As a rule, public school teachers are liberal and they use their position of authority as a platform to sway the kids into thinking like they do. I have had to argue with my nine year old since she started kindergarten about whether her teacher’s “Opinions” were fact or fiction. The teachers seem to be teaching evolution as fact rather than theory, and the big bang theory as fact, but they do not teach any intelligent design as even a theory. I dare you to even suggest it.

They also teach the kids to never stand up for themselves. If they are being bullied, they will be suspended for fighting back. The leaders tell the kids to respect other family dynamics, such as gay/lesbian families, yet the most disrespected seem to be the Mom and Dad who are still together families.

It is a very sad day that our children learn no respect and real values that will allow them to be a person of Integrity in the future and love America like our ancestors did.

It depends. There are mulitcultural events which focused on diversity. If you see that as liberal then it is liberal. Every subject is taught like in any other school, I don't see how it indoctrinates children in any way. I don't know why some people are saying children would be ruined in the public school system, I wasn't. There are many good, top ranking public schools in the nation.

I'm in high school, personally I think the school system is more liberal when it comes to teaching, especially in Humanities, English... etc. but the rules can be extremely conservative depending on how you look at it. Overall it is definately more liberal though.

California public schools tow the Liberal line, they present Algore's movie An Inconvenient lie as a factual documentary instead of political indoctrination. At least in England they have to play a disclaimer before showing that political trash.

I had a teacher try to convince me that all citizens should be guaranteed a living wage if they work or not, I told him that I would choose not to work and he would have to support me. He didn't like that idea.

That old saying, "Those that can do and those that can't teach" rings so true in California.

After listening to some of the crap my son's teachers fed him, it was obvious that they were not conservative and certainly not in the center. That is why I pulled him out of the public school system.

I'm 53 years old and I do not recall any of my public school teachers making political statements or talking about the bible. However, unlike teachers today, they did insist that we learn right from wrong.

Considering I went through it in North Idaho I would say it was kinda conservative, at least here, but many of the teachers were liberals and antiwar guys who couldn't keep their opinions to themselves. Considering the NEA is a major supporter and backer of the Democratic Party and many teachers unions are as well, I would say overall it is liberal.

The whole educational philosophy is based in liberal dogma. Don't worry about results. Focus on how little Johnny feels. He might get low self-esteem if you put a red F on his paper. Write it in purple. Don't use the word 'fail', he is just 'success-deferred'. Facts don't matter. Correct doesn't matter. Basic language skills don't matter.

Just make sure he knows how to be 'green' and to use a condom.

The American public schooll system should be about learning, not politics. However, thanks to the efforts of the right wing, political ideology as heavily infected the American classroom. We have-unbelievably in the 21st century--things like creationism being promoted in classrooms, teachers calling into question established scienc such as man-made global warming,e tc.

The above two examples are NOT examples of a "liberal bias" on my part. Creationsm (or its reworked version, intelligent design) is not science--and teaching it as such is, or should be, grounds for immediate dismissal of a teacher. And, as I said, global warming is a fact--not subject to political or ideological debate.

There are many more examples of this. I, fo rone, have seen one young person after another enter college with out a real education or critical thinking skills. And it is directly due to the actions of conservatives who view the schools as a venue for political indoctrination, and not real education.
