there are two things to think about... one is trust, how would he feel about not knowing... but then as you said that would be a major distraction for him, and being over there the last thing you need is a distraction, if he is in harms way he will definitely be distracted.... the best thing i can say is talk to his command rep back home so he can get the message that something has happened... if his leaders know about it they can pull him aside and make sure he is okay before sending him back out in the action.... so tell him, but be careful and smart about how you deliver the message... i am sure he will be upset, but if he loves you then he will not be upset at you, trust me on this one... be careful, for his sake and yours

See a therapist...and then go from there. Most rapes are date rapes or someone you know - there are probably bigger issues and you need to deal with them. Though unpleasant to discuss, talking to a therapist will help you get through this terrible time. Tell your husband when you are ready, its hard b/c he is so far away.

If you don't tell him he will be mad at you. Better to tell him right away, don't worry about him being distracted, they are trained to handle alot of things. You need your husbands support and love now of all times so please let him know.
Good luck , take care and tell your husband i said thank you for serving!
My nephew is in Iraq too :o)

Yes I would tell my husband. You cant keep something like that inside because you will never get over it. Plus he might be able to tell that your keeping something from him and then he wont trust you. Also the both of you may need to go to counseling. You need it so you can get past the experience and he may need to go because he might blame himself for not being there.

Without question you should tell him. For some reason he finds out later.....it's a wrap. Trust goes a long way. an't beat honesty. Stay on the right track. Once you lie or keep things away...it'll be easier to do it next time. Besides...what if it were you?

If a marriage is built on true love, trust is very much apart of that, why not tell, if you have gone through this horrific ordeal wouldn't you want your significant other to know.

you should file a police report and if they catch the guy it will come out anyhow in the trial if they are able to catch the rapist.

In the future, if you were ever more bored out of your mind, could you come up with another question more interesting than this?
