when i lived in spain i used to walk the beaches in the early morning looking for ambergris since it was worth more than gold back then and I saw something that was maybe 2 feet in diameter and looked like gelatin.
thinking i might have found more than I could carry, I heated a wire to see if it would melt. it didn't, it just burned. I tried to move it and it was like a huge blob of fat, again getting my hopes i had found some ambergris.
as I finally moved it, i realized it was a jellyfish, 2 feet or so in diameter on the beach.
had it been ambergirs I would have been a millionaire! instead it was a dead jelly fish

I went to visit a friend a long time ago at her apartment complex. The apartment community had an Easter egg hunt going on and I had to walk through the yard to get to my friends place. I heard a kid yell at his mom to 'look what he found' and she started screaming at him to drop it. It was a brightly colored used condom.
