If it's not the call of nature, its the dog. Worst thing is, once he gets me up, he goes back to sleep! Grrrrr!!

That was really cute. I love cats any way. I use to have a cat that would very gently bite me on the ear and the nose until I would get up. Didn't have to have an alarm clock with her at all. It was always the same time every morning. She passed away about 5 or 6 years ago.
Now I have 2 alarms, one on my cell phone and one on my radio alarm. That is just in cause one doesn't go off. The call of nature wakes me up through out the whole night. Plus I also have 5 baby kittens right now that also wakes me up in the mornings.

Funny you should ask. Right now it is 2:30 a.m. I have been up for 45 minutes. Call of nature, then couldn't get back to sleep. This is happening way to often lately. I usually sleep about 7 hours and just wake up. Sunday morning I was up at 3:30 and made the mistake of having my juice and coffee. I was so tired all day. Took a nap about 1, but that didn't help. No coffee this morning, I'm going to try to get back to sleep soon.

Sometimes I just wake up before the alarm, the call of nature and sometimes, the train going by. I live 50 FEET from Amtrak and the freight trains.
My alarm is set for 6am, the start of The Early Show on KTYD FM radio... Classic Rock You can go to their website and listen on-line.

That was the best laugh I've had in a long time. Thank you-how much would it cost to rent that cat? I have a neighbor who wakes me up every morning at 7 with his delightful power saw. I'd much prefer the cat with the bat.

Shortcut,
I have an 8 y/o adopted cat who weights about 10 lbs. She loves to nudge her head against my head or shoulder in the morning, plus I have a 2 1/2 y/o cat who is very jealous when she is not getting the attention, so she joins in to wake me up. If I try to ignore them the big cat crawls under the covers.
I have to feed them before I can pour my coffee.

Nature usually gets me up a few times in the night. I usually wake up to my alarm clock in the morning. I used to have a beautiful cat which would wake me up periodically, but sadly she is gone. She went outside one day, and never came back home.

Something different every morning, usually. It's either the call
of nature, or one of the dogs, or the neighbor next door, or
maybe my hubby making his coffee, or his having turned on
the morning news. Or something outside. I usually am up before he is though if I sleep through the night. If I'm up in the
wee hours, coughing or mother nature, than I will sleep later
til 8:00 or so. I always hope to sleep through the night and on
the rare occasion I do, then quite often it's the dogs who want
to get under my blanket and cuddle. They're cold natured and
have to be burrowed under for warmth most all of the time.
They come out to eat and do their business and play a little
and then they are back under any covers they can find. So I
have couch throws and baby blankets out and they rotate
their sleeping spots throughout the day and night. It makes
for a really cluttered look in our apt. and I've learned to live
with it.

Thanks for the link, it was really cute. I also looked at the one with the little kittens . So sweet.
My alarm clock is set to go off at 7:00 am but sometimes I wake up from the noise of a train or the traffic . I love it when I wake up early so I can go back to sleep for an hour.

I had seen the video before, but it's still just as funny. I have three Maine Coon cats (that means BIG), and the largest is the one who gives me "love bites" to wake me so I can pet her. Another will simply walk all over me, and the third one curls up spoon-fashion against my chest.
So, if the call of nature doesn't get me, the cats will! -- F.
