t-shirt purse?

I've seen before where people have a tote bag out of their old t-shirts. i was just wondering if anyone knew how to make one??

I tried something similar with an old bed sheet once. I might not be the best at explaining but I'll give it a shot. You could try making a rectangular template and then cutting this shape out of the t-shirt. Then sew it on the reverse side of what you will be using as the outside of the bag, turn it inside out and you'll be most of the way there, if I'm describing it right. You could then use either a different material or leftovers from the t-shirt to make handles.

Martha Stewart's Jan 2008 magazine shows how to make a tote from a t-shirt. It may be on her website also.
Basically, sew the bottom shut, cut off the sleeves, widen the neckline. The arm holes are the handles.

Try this....get premade handles at the craft store. run the handles thu the arms of the shirt and leave the neck opening open for the top of the purse. Sew the bottom closed as far down as you need it to make it as big or as small as your want it.
