The Athiests that I personally know are all pacifists. It often makes me laugh listening to blood-thirsty bible-thumpers claim that Athiests can't have morals because they don't believe in god.

There is no right or no wrong answer here! Both countries believed in god to protect them nothing more. Both countries believed that the other was evil. They believed that god would protect them from the evil.
God does not tell them to kill. This is a man made choice. But depending on what country you live in there was those that died for your independence and freedom. So that you can live the life that you live today.
Thou shall not kill!!!!! It is a commandment in the bible.

War is insane, isn't it?I am not Christian, but I personally believe in God.People may look down on my beliefs just as much as yours, believe it or not. I don't believe the bible "stories", nor that Jesus is mankind's savior. The Adam & Eve thing really makes me chuckle too! Do you notice that most Christians are republican? And they believe in Bush. Bush believes in war...in the name of God??? That has to be blasphemy there if there is such a thing. My parents are devout democratic baptists and they think the solution to the war is,"Kill em all!" Say what? Ya go to church, pay tithing, pray, etc...and think war is good? Goes to show you, whether you're an atheist, a believe- in God- only like me kind of person, or worship orangatan feces, you can be a peace loving human being........

you wont kill a fly eh? ok fine..pay me and ill kill it.
sorry..i dont know what kind of answer to give you except an inane one..
oh except this...those who kill while claiming God...are not Christians...they come to the point..where they think they are God. They beleive that it is ok to give out punishment and to kill.
oh..and im also Christian...but im far from brainwashed as many ppl would assume.
i dont like war..in fact i hate it and i think it is uncalled for...
but i also know that no matter how many want peace there will always be someone who hates peace and wishes for war.
many ppl also assume that christians are republicans...i am not...nor am i democrat..
i think both political parties have thier good points..and i choose to focus on what i think is good..while labeling myself as neither.
i dont follow what Bush says because i personally think he is an idiot...
but then again..i think most politicians are.
Too many promises are made and ppl eat them right up. and when these politicians cannot always come through...oh how the mighty fall, as they say.
anyhow..i am very aware that dubya claims christianity...but claiming..and being..are 2 different things.
i can claim to be black...i can shout it out...but when you look at my skin...i am white...i cannot be black. even if i had surgery to alter my features, and had my skin darkened..i am still a white girl. it would be genetic. and the new face is only a mask.
that is how alot of ppl who claim to be christian are. ppl who wear masks. they are the same ppl who go to church..say praise the lord...and then go drinking on monday.

It's odd, but all religions have history of superiority complexes at some point in each of their histories. Extreme cases reveal genocide, condemnation for thought outside the proposed guidelines, and a proclaimation of "absolute truth".
Many people freak out if their deeply ingrained beliefs are challenged - some to the point of justifying murder with what they try to tell themselves..."God wants it this way"..........Just groovey, huh?

People act the way they are taught to act.
If both countries were atheist countries they would still have wars.

People who believe in God have already demonstrated that they can be brainwashed, and are not good at thinking for themselves. Therefore, they can also be convinced that taking the lives of fellow humans is the right thing to do.

The "God is on our side" thing was a way of winning popularity from their respective nations. politicians don't consider religion to be right or wrong, they consider it to be useful.
However, God is really on our (The Autobots) side (sorry, I had to say it)

Ive always felt religion is bad for a person, because it makes that person vengful, full of wrath against anyone who follows another religion. Most wars are by people who follow different religions or are on opposing ends within the same religion. They probably are good people if not for the sentiments evoked in so called fighting for their religion or sect.
