Religion vs. atheism has nothing to do with whether or not one would kill a fly, and both religious people and atheists can be hypocrites as well.
I may be a Christian (non-zealous variety) but I'd kill anyone who threatened the life of myself or my family. In fact, God would expect me to defend my family to my utmost. Problems creep in when people kill in the name of their chosen god. That's just insane.

Organized religion has created more tension, discourse, evil and war in this world than perhaps anything else. While I believe in a 'higher being', I also believe that organized religion is nothing more than another 'big business', designed to enrich the few while controlling the many. As an atheist, you are probably more moral than most so-called religious zealots.

people are a bell curve. on one end you got people that define their personal religion as 'warm and fuzzy' ... the 'Yeah, God!' kids that would've fit well in 'Up With People'.

on the other end of the curve are people who arent happy unless their religion is telling them they are right ... and you are wrong. A small subset of these believe the cure for 'wrong' is a bullet.

okay... so, religious nuts are, well, basically, nuts. What did we prove?

There is a bell curve for atheists, too, you know.
