In all honesty, I can't say I liked it.

I mean think about it, throughout the whole series we've read about Harry and his friends adventures as teenagers. That's how we all know him: a young man caught in the middle of something big and dangereous that is his destiny.

Then at the last possible minute, Rowling suddenly transforms them into adults. In my opinion, I feel like we concluded the series in an unfamiliar enviorment (Harry and friends as adults with kids of their own) That's not the way we know these characters.

I feel like the way the story was concluded left us in a state of "umm..okay"

I don't know. I thought it the ending was rather rushed and clicheish. What do you think?

I agree with you 110%
I was very disappointed with the epilogue. It was predictable, and when I read it, I was like "Yeah, okay, and??" so, while the whole book was interesting and exciting, the epilogue did ruin my opinion of it. :(

I liked it. From the first, Harry is the boy who had no family, whose only blood kin abused him.

One of the underlying themes in the series is Harry finding his family; Ron and Hermione (his true brother and sister), the Weasley family (If I'd been at the Ginny/Harry wedding, I'd have congratulated Molly and Arthur on being the parents of both the bride and groom 8^) ), Gryffindor and Hogwarts (his true home).

So for me, it was great to see Harry fulfilled as a husband and father.

It might have been fun to have seen more about other characters, but I was content (Professor Longbottom rocks!!!).

The first time I read through it I was pleased with the ending. I think I was just glad that we had indeed gotten to the end. But the second time I read through it, I was a little disappointed. I mean, Rowling does give us the short and sweet as to what happens to the immediate main characters, but what happens to the twins' joke shop now that one is dead? Does Lee Jordan become a co-owner? And who does Malfoy marry? Pansy Parkinson? How do Harry's kids not know how famous he is? Just small details, I'm sure, but it would've been nice to know...

Totally disappointed and so were my kids and we all loved the rest of the series. The whole book seemed stretched and without the feeling of the rest. The end was such a cliche we had it predicted long before we got there! I think some of the entries in various kids mag comps were better than the real thing.

I was very disappointed. I mean, how cliche was it to name their children after people from the book. I totally hated that part of it. And something that has 7 books should not end in such a rush. Gosh. It was sort of fairy-tale ish that everyone turned out to live happily ever after- in a wizarding world. I didn't like it. We should have been able to make up our own ending if the epilogue has to be so crappy.

I thought it was wonderful. She said she would not be writing any more Potter books and she didn't want to leave us in the dark. So she informed us that all was well and they all grew up to have families of their own. I just don't like the fact that Harry named his son after Snape instead of his father. When it was Snape who started the whole thing by informing Voldermort of the prophecy.

if it was the end of the bok why does it have to be excitng or anything? i think it was a good end to the series because it showed that Harrys life wasnt in ruins in the end and that his life turned out being better than it ever was

i agree....a bit short and boring....but she said in a interview that it was up 2 the reader to decide upon the future of the others!!!

but i think it was like that becuase jo wrote the ending epilogue before she started her 2nd book!!!!.....and she didnt want to change it!!!

overall i really enjoyed the rest of the book and the others!!!!!!!!!!!!1

d ending is like an anti-climax to the whole series. somehow d ending w. them and their kids kinda freaked me out. i really dun like d idea of them married. mostly harry married to ginny.
but i like their jobs esp harry, hermione.
as for life partners-it shld be
ginny/neville
luna/ron
harry/hermione
