Any law students/lawyers out there? I am a third-year law student, graduating in a couple weeks. I have to take my federal income tax (for individuals) on Monday morning and I am freaking out! The class actually ended a month ago, and I haven't looked at the material in a while. I'm tabbing my books right now, but I need a good outline or something. I always freak out about exams, but I am particularly freaked out about this one because I was so busy this semester that I fell behind in a couple classes. Any advice/outlines?

Good luck on your torts final, Lisa. I remember how difficult the first semester was, but don't worry. You are going to do much better than you expect! That's just the way it works in law school. I checked out that website and didn't find anything, but I'm reviewing all my notes and stuff, and I think I'll pass it, but just barely. :) I guess that's all that matters at this point.

Sorry, I don't have any third year outlines. I am a first year, and have a final in torts tomorrow morning so I'm right there with you on the freaking out thing. Good luck though and congratulations on graduating soon!

But try this website I just found out about. It might have something.

Check IRS Publication 17 (www.irs.gov). It spells out all the concepts. Helped me pass my final in tax twenty years ago, and is still a very authoritative resource. Any 2006 or 2007 Tax Guide in your library (HR Block, Ernst & Young, etc) also explain the concepts you probably went over in English.

You can do it. Stay cool and put the time in. You'll pass...

Here's a tip for ANYONE in law, either as student or a practicing attorney.
NEVER admit you are unprepared.
