In my home I have smoke and co detectors as well as two fire extinguishers.On the second floor I have a chain ladder to throw out the window to climb down. In my garage I have a standby generator and several tanks of gas. I have 3 bottles of propane next to my barbecue on the patio. Have enough dry packaged food to last 4 people two weeks at least, 10 gallons of bottled water and 8 boxes of dry dog food. In my car I have two blankets self lighting propane soldering torch with two refills. box of Cheerios. packages of dried fruit (raisins,cranberries and prunes two bags of sand/rock salt mix, 3 gallons of gasoline, jumper cables , 5 road flares flashlight and spare batteries, cell phone charger

In my 4x4 I have heavy duty jumper cables, Tow Straps, 2 cans Fix a Flat, 1 gallon anti-freeze, 1 qt. Motor Oil, 1 qt. trans fluid, stuff to fix hoses, a tool set, a heavy duty Hi-Lift Jack, a flashlight, heavy duty gloves, a fire extinguisher and road flares.

smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detector , fire extinguishers at least one per story, flashlights. extra batteries emergency candles, plenty of blankets,sleeping bags. bottled drinking water. and canned food. in the car i like to carry a flashlight. emergency road kit. some water and snack bars, and in the winter time blankets and emergency candles.
