Yes, its good.
You can overclock RAM, but most motherboards don't support ram overclocking except those high end ones. You can increase/ decrease latency, clockspeed, etc.
Be warned that RAM can suffer from thermal damage if they are overclocked.

If you want to overclock go with the Ballistix as it has the Micron D9 chips which overclock the best. May want to stay away from it if you have a board (especially a Gigabyte) with the 965 chipset because some 965 boards have probs running the D9 chips. That Patriots good ram thou and has 4-4-4-12 latency which is quick for DDR2. I use Corsair XMS in both my Vista and XP gaming rigs.

NOOOOO! It's NO good!! Better just send that crap to me! Okay, just kiddin'! A lot of high-end gamers use Patriot, and this version rocks! Corsair 'sticks' are overclockers brand. Yes, you can overclock this ram! But as has been stated, do you think you want to risk the duckets? That stuff's not cheap. Check this page of many out there for info on overclocking ram. DO SO at your own risk! I do not advise it,(but what do I know, you might light people's cigarettes with hundred dollar bills! LOL!) http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/152

It's not so much which type of RAM is suitable when you're talking about performance. Although DDRII is better than the former types ... it's more about how much RAM you actually need and want to play the game without any hassles.

Also, you can't overclock RAM.

Also remember that when playing games, what matters is that you have enough RAM, and that you have a powerful graphics card that can take the game.

Cheers
