I am here to share and learn as well as have a good time. I enjoy reading what others have to say about Classic Country Music. I couldn't care less about the points because you can't do anything with them even if you had a trillion of them. I actually wish that there were no points and everyone would have fun and not worry about it. I do have to admit I see some good answers passed up and points given to someone else who really didn't give that good of an answer but I reckon one can give the points to whomever they want but it sorta takes the fun out of it. With that being said I am ready for the thumbs down that I am sure to get just because I said what I think about the situation.

I guess I am an outsider too but I like to read the questions and answers in the Country Music section to learn a few things and share opinions. I'm not great on the "history" questions but do remember some of the old time greats. I like many of the new, young country singers too. I've enjoyed listening to country music my whole life. I could care less about points, stars, thumbs up, thumbs down. You know this isn't real life? It's just a pleasant way to pass the time.

You never said why you come to the Country Music section. Please do tell!

You tell 'em Fool-I don't know if you or Gone Left saw my answer to Kathleen's question the other day, but there's been some monkey business going on in this section recently among some of the classic country crowd and I have a good idea who they are. Hopefully they'll grow up or go away so we can get back to talkin about important things like Wynn Stewart!!!

"One's destination is never a place but rather a new way of looking at things". There are a lot of new lookers, that is a good thing if EVERYONE sticks to country music, please no rap or c---. you can find those in other categorys. oxox. As for the thumbs up or down I could care less, means nothing. I have noticed that some cannot handle joking criticism, without boo hooing about it I used to take it to heart like that, but soon got over it, had to. I don't stop answering a person just because they wrote something I didn't like.

I'm here because I love country music and I like the share my knowledge with others who might not know it...that is why I'm here. Points don't matter to me at all. Their just kinda there. I wouldn't care if their weren't points.

Dude I'm here because Ilike the REAL CLASSIC COUNTRY and not this new BULL COOKIES.
And nobody that attemps to answer a question deserves thumbs down(Exceptions are the obvious).

And right now Yahoo!Answers country's got more answerers than I believe I've ever seen
So many people got to follow out their dream"
"But I feel different," I said, "'cause I'm a natural born cat
I'm country to the bone, but I don't wear no hat"

I have wondered myself why some answers are picked as "best" when they clearly are incorrect answers or not even "answers" at all. But, that *is* the asker's prerogative, isn't it?

As for the answer to your question, I did my college internship in the Country Music Hall of Fame, and I believe (perhaps naively) that people truly have questions that they want to know the answer to, and if I know it I want to help them.

I pop in now & then for a trip down memory lane. Modern country isn't too interesting to me, but it's fun to come here and be reminded of songs & artists I'd nearly forgotten. :-)
