PH measures whether something is more acidic or basic. For instance, if the ph is something like 7 that would indicate more basic. If its 3.3, thats more acidic.

The first guy is wrong.. pH measures both acids and bases. Its is on a scale of 1-14, and solutions having a measure of 1-6 in pH means the solution is acidic, and solutions measuring 8-14 are considered to be a basic solution. If the solution is at 7 that means it is neutral

pH measures the concentration of either an acid or a base, or the hydrogen and hydroxide ions in a substance. The scale goes from 1-14. The higher the pH is on a scale, the more acidic it is; the lower the pH of a substance is. . . the more basic/alkaline. A pH of 7, is neutral.

pH is a relative measure of both acidity and alkalinity with neutral being 7 - acids below that and bases above. The closer to zero the more acidic and the closer to 14 the more alkaline.

It measures both. It tells you how acidic or alkaline your body is. For instance the Ph range for normal urine is from 5.0-7.0 Above 7.0 is considered alkaline, and below 5.0 is acid. If a urine specimen has a PH over 7, it probably contains a great number of bacteria, which make the urine alkaline. This will destroy the urinary casts that are formed in the kidney. Normal PH for urine is 5.0-6.5
Sorry to get off the subject but usually when people talk about PH they refer to urine tests.

Acid and base. Acid is 1-6. Neutral is 7. And base is 8-(I think the highest is 14 but I'm not positive).

pH measures the concentration of H+ ions in a substance. So if it is a pH of 14, it is highly basic, if it has a pH of 1 it is highly acidic. (7 is neutral)

pOH measures the concentration of OH- ions. So a pOH of 1 is highly basic and a pOH of 14 is highly acidic. 7 is still neutral.

hi there! the pH is a scale of measurment for science, specifically chemistry.

The scale measures if substances and tells you if they are more on the acidic or base side.

I believe pH measures the percentage of acid to alkali.

one million. (b) Bases helpful properties a proton and grow to be a conjugate acid eg. HCl (aq) + H2O (l) -> Cl^- (aq) + H3O^3+ (aq) thus, H2O is a base and helpful properties a proton to grow to be H3O^3+. hence the conjugate acid of H2O is H3O^3+ 2. (a) <- no longer a hundred% if it is real haha amphoteric species are issues (<-lol) that would act as a base OR acid. they're in lots of cases vulnerable acids/bases (eg. H2O) so i'm assuming that the different element will must be solid :) somebody else replied something under hahah :)
