im in first yr of uni and we watched a video onthe the profitablity of oil and gas. basically iwas thinking that ill wait a few years until a new form of energy is used to power cars such as a new type of feul or i heard somthing about hydrogen cells to power cars, or even using neuclear power to power cars...when this happens ill jump on it and start making parts that you need to the car with...for example, hydrogen cells, im sure bmw wont make the cells them selves they will purchase it from a company that makes them. i think this is a good idea beacuse firstly itll be a new techonolgy so there will be alot of room to grow, and with every new technology som really big companies cant adapt to change and go out of business, making room for people like me...so what do u think?

To make money you need money--lots of if. You're going to be laughed by banks and people you need money from to start your wonderful company if you don't have an engineering degree, significant business experience, and real practical knowledge of how these particular industries you mention actually work behind the scenes (btw, you also need to learn how spell). If you're serious about making a living in some part of the alt fuel markets you need to start reading everything you can on the business and science behind these industries, and this will give you, over the years, a sense of what kind of niche markets are developing. Otherwise you'll just end up being a clerk in someone else's hydrogen car parts shop with a bunch of business fantasies.

We already have alternative means of powering cars. It's the investment in that that falls short.

Brazil powers cars with Alcohol, in the UK "smart" cars are powered by electric, so really, it's about branching out into that business now, rather than waiting for something else to come along.

I would suggest that when the oil price next dips, buy as much oil as you can as it is about to get very short indeed.

If you have the education to handle the new technology then you're set.. if you don't have the chemistry and engineering backgrounds needed for this kind of industry, then you'd better come up with something else.

Good luck.

by the time the technology is is introduced, the manufacturing patents will be all locked in...your best bet is to invent something new on your own, or better, cheaper and "greener" ways of producing just about anything...
how about a car that runs on human waste and all the seats can be toilets? you can make the toilets!

You should be more careful. before you share your ideas with other people which can be stolen and used by others.

Have you done market research? Do you know how much starting capital you need? Well all I can tell is to don't listen to other people who will try to stop you from achieving your goals. Wish you success
