I do not have a account with pay pal but if I start selling my things online I was thinking about getting one. I was just wondering what would be the best way to sell this keep the customer happy but also make some money? How much would paypal charge for a transaction of 3.50 or 5.00? Also is there any other reasonable way to do a transaction?

You really don't want to accept Paypal for cheap stuff because in addition to the 3-4 % Paypal charges, there is also a per-transaction fee somewhere in the area of 30-40 cents. You're talking about losing 15% or so right off the top for every $3.50 item you sell.
