I have no idea what you're asking. Alleles are different forms of the same gene; genes are part of chromosomes. Chromosomes are segregated during meiosis (when gametes are formed) or mitosis (when cells reproduce).

Where 'joining' fits into this, I'm not sure. Clarification?

They join the mutant alleles. I'm feeling lucky, I just had a V-8.
