Okay guys and gals, this is absolutely ridiculous, I'm reminded of Middle School by some of the ways people are treating others on this site!
Here's the deal:
Everyone needs to stop bashing everyone else.
If you have a problem with something someone says, don't take the bait! Don't lower yourself to their level.
Let's raise the standards of what this section of Yahoo! Answers has become.
After all, people come here for advice (most of the time), and want genuine help. So what if they're a beginner? We all were at some point or another. So what if you think their question is stupid?
If you don't have anything nice/constructive to say, don't say anything at all!
I know those 2 points are nice to get, but what's the point if you're going to get thumbs-down and other people pissed at you?
So please, play nice, and make this website was it was meant to be: an honest place to ask questions and receive honest answers.
I'm not looking to elicit negative reactions from you all, be nice.

Thanks for all the input, I know I'm a hypocrite for complaining about people complaining about people, but I think it's time to get Yahoo's attention on some of the stuff that's been going on, and maybe get some moderators in here, or something along those lines.
Sorry about the middle school diss, the thing that sticks out most from my middle school years was the bickering... it's not all bad. Once again, I apologize.

Holy crap Lisa I could not have worded an answer better myself!!! I agree that there is something really funny going on here with questions and what not being reported and deleted. As you know I have had 2 within 24 hours deleted and a couple of my answers have since been deleted by YA after those 2 questions. I for one don't think I have hacked anyone off but I tried to call the people out that were doing it ( knowing that they were too chicken **** to step forward and buck up to their stupidity) and that wa sone of my questions that got deleted. I agree too that the problem seems to go away for a week or so only to eturn in full force and even more massively. I almost feel like YA need sot be like aol chats or myspace forum and have an actual moderator ovwer the section that way instead of random people getting random questions deleted b/c they have someone on ?YA that dopesn't liek them the moderator can actually see if they question violate sany terms or warrants being deleted. I myself suspect YA doens't even check into the reported questions they jusr automatically delete them after oh so many "report it" has been clicked

edit hubby did change them earlier but thought i had it fixed, maybe i'm typing too fast again!!!! lol

But the truth isn't always nice. I do appreciate the point you're trying to make here, but on the other side of this issue are all the people who come here for whatever reason, to pretend and play horsie and act like they know more than they do.

These are the same pathetic, small minds who thumbs down everybody with whom they disagree. I give very few thumbs down, only for outright meanness for the sake of meanness, or really poor misinformation. I also have no blocked users. I'm certain that I am blocked by many, and that's fine too. What's that verse about casting pearls before swine?

I don't have a problem with beginners, teenagers, or young people in general. I don't have a problem even with gaming questions, so long as they specify it in the title. What I do have a problem with are questions that seem to be based upon a well perpetuated myth...like all the "my horse won't behave for anyone but me" stuff. This is not an admirable quality. Why treat it like it is? Frankly, I believe they've read Flicka too many times...but let's assume for the sake of argument that they didn't. Let's say their horse throws or will not perform for anybody but them. What happens to that horse if they suddenly find themselves unable to keep it? This is what I mean by it's a PROBLEM TO BE FIXED, not some romantic bonding story. If being realistic and honest about stuff like this in the best interest of the horses is mean, then I'm proud to be mean.

The same issues resurface every so often. Even if they are somewhat resolved now, they will reappear in a month or so. It's better to just ignore the comments that bother you. They are just words after all and most of the people who aren't being nice on here are just immature. It's like that everywhere on Yahoo Answers, not just the horse section. Don't sweat the small stuff. I don't see why this bothers so many people, it's easy to ignore.

People might be inclined to be nicer to each other if some where not cheating, having multiple accounts and voting for themselves to give the appearance that they are some real horse whizz. Another thing would be the amount of people getting reported at the moment - someone is doing it, it's not happening by itself. And then there is the matter of stalkers, you give someone a very calm and polite answer that is both legit and correct and then they hound you for a month with emails and IM's
I agree that this forum is for helping people (especially beginners) and sharing experiences and ideas but it's spinning out of control at the moment because of a few that obviously lack both integrity and moral fortitude.

Not a good idea to be naming names of those who "bug" you on a public message board. LIBEL and SLANDER are not nice words and can get you into a world of trouble. Keep the public postings and naming of those who irritate you off a public board. If "you" don't like what is happening with a particular board..then don't post...pretty simple. There are other horse message boards to check out.

The trolls will thumbs down no matter what good advice one might offer...they're only in it to annoy people.

Some mega drama going on in here! Darn.... I'll keep to the dogs and cats, less drama except for fighting to spay and neuter. I liked being in the horse section but to many people complain about answers. Anyway, the real reason for posting is HEY BISCUIT______ HUSBAND CHANGE THE KEYS ON YOUR COMPUTER AGAIN?? LOL

I have resorted to naming a person in public for reasons of her harrassing everyone that didn't agree with her. Either through email or IM, her and her little cohorts would just constantly attack me and I definately wanted others to know.

I would appreciate that same favor from others also so I can red dot the little twits.

There are really some lowlife scum on here honestly and the more that we can protect others from enduring what some of us have endured the better.

Not saying that anyone mentioned today is one I am referring to, those that know the history on my twit know who she is.

I agree! and what I really hate is how people don't take questions seriously! They'll answer in a joke that has nothing to do with the question or they'll be like--I don't know, I don't know anything about horses! Well then don't answer the question!!!!!!

Okay, I completely agree with you. However, you are adding to the problem by "taking the bait" yourself. You are talking about that, and that is exactly what the people want. They want the attention. So why are you giving it to them? I do agree with you, but you're not exactly helping. Just saying, not trying to be mean.
