I'm not a senior, but the meanings of names have always interested me, so I knew when I had kids, that their names had to mean something. MY name and my siblings names had to mean something to my parents(all three of us have first names that are Hebrew in origin).
I wanted my first born to have the same initials as her daddy, at least kind of...
Her first and second names are Arabic and origin and mean "found treasure" and "jewel of heaven". Her third name is the same as my fiance's(my kids' daddy's) little sister's middle name.
Our son was named after my fiance's godson and he(my fiance) picked his middle name because he liked how it sounded. Lucky for me, our son's first name is Celtic(I'm mostly Irish), and means "bright intense flame;fiery" and his middle name is French for "darling"(my fiance's name is French-but he's African American).

No rhyme or reason. Just came to me each time-5 kids-first daughter I had had her name picked out for years before, then after she was born it just didn't fit her-named her something I had never even thought of. She's 25 now and the "new" name fits much better than the "original" ever would have.

Our two childrens' names had last minute changes, due to
different things. We were going to name our daughter, Kim-
berly Dawn, and when I learned that every female baby in
the hospital nursery all had Kimberley for her name, I had to
change my chosen name to something no other person had
that I'd heard of. And I wanted it to have a spring like assoc-
iation to it. So I chose, April, after running some others by
my husband.
With our son, I was going to name him Michael Alan, and
I got opposition from that. So I came up with Mark Alan, and
my husband gave his approval. So that's what we stuck with.
Our daughter decided she didn't like her given name
after leaving highschool and so she changed it to Abril which
we don't like and still use her given name. Her theatrical
agent told her that Abril would be a new and different name.
And would have pulling power for an audience. She was
doing theater work along with working at the time.

Our first was a toss up right up until the time we walked into the church to have her baptised. Our second was named for a best friend and the 3rd was named after a dog that had just been killed. Luckily the dog's name was Lisa. Our last and finally a son had to be a Junior.

I chose my son's first name based on a character from the soap opera "The Young and the Restless" -- Dustin

middle name -- I got lucky -- my Daddy's first name was James and my father in law's middle name was James -- and that's how he ended up being Dustin James

Our eldests Christian name is a derivative of "Catherine" which was the name of my sister's first baby who was 3 months premature and she died at the age of 4 days. Her middle name was in respect of my maternal grandmother and was her Christian name. Our youngest daughter's Christian name was chosen because we liked it although it has been shortened and her middle name went really nicely with it and it's a Biblical name.
