I don't think there is anything you can do. Just keep quite about it.

Well I think you could be right the python got the cat,you can wait and see if the cat turns up,or you could just tell them you think your python ate their cat,its part of nature.Cat trys to catch snake but just choose the wrong one, such are the laws of nature.Better be careful it doesn't get a taste for humans ha ha,it only needs a couple more feet of growth and small kids will look good, expect when you keep wild animals that their instincts will kick in.you will have to be more careful fix your garden up so that cats cant get in.

holy crap, well u can be honorable and tell them but they could techinally say u were negilent leaving ur snake out. Course there cat shouldn't have been in your yard. Maybe it depends on the neighbors, and how much u do or don't like them. I wouldn't really think there's a right or worng here. Whatever u think is the most noble thing.

all i can say is good job by your python! no need to worry about, this is the risk when you let your damn cat roam. if you want to make sure your cat stays fine and healthy just keep it inside only! there are so many things that can happen to a roaming cat you always rolling the dice and set her life when let her out!

There is a small chance. But truthfully the cat is more of a danger to the snake. Following proper husbandry is the best way to protect both of them.

thank God your neighbors aren't seaching for a lost child.

Eight foot python, aren't you worried? I think it might be time to ask the local zoo if they have room for another python, before you start to look appetizing to him. Yum Yum

well firs wait a few days to see if they find it because the last thing you want to do is make them loose hope and think that your snake ate it and then they stop looking for it and now theres a cat with no home. after a few days ask them if they have found it and if they havnt then tell them what happened. if you dont want to ruin ties with neighbors then you could tell them that it happened the day you tell them so that they dont think your python ate it and you knew all along. but either way i dont think your snake would be hurt.

EDIT: ooh and i just thought of this. if it turns out you find out that your snake did eat the cat and you dont want that to happen to your naighbors, you could go to the pound and adopt one that looks like their cat and then bring it home to them and if it doesnt act like their cat then thats okay because alot of animals act different if they have been gone for an extended period of time from their families.

Now that he has a full tummy, be like your snake and keep your mouth shut.
