What should the PSI be when I am using an air attachment gun for blasting air for cleaning tools?

Is 150PSI to powerful?

The nozzle has a very narrow tip

You shouldn't need to go that high - the glass bead blaster I've used at our machine shop is regulated to 100psi. We use it day-in/day-out without problems.

But if you are talking about just using the air stream to blow dust & particles off of things, you should be fine at 30psi.

Those have high psi but very low cfm (cubic feet per minute) That type of compressor would never be able to keep up with a paint spray gun or any other compressed air tool. They all run off of low psi high cfm. sorry.

You should have 2 gauges. One for the air compressor and one at the outlet for the air tool. Set the outlet at the attachments recommended psi setting and the other one about 20-30 lbs higher.

Typically 90 psi is ideal, up to 120 if you are using it for certain air tools. It depends on what you are using for, if you have a regulator, adjust the pressure until it works at it's optimal setting for your purpose, the lower the pressure that works effective the longer you can blow air without the compressor running.

Air tools such as air ratchets run at 90 PSI. A few PSI's either way is ok. It will usually tell you on the air tool what to use.
Good Luck!

There's a blow-gun law? {Ahhh...OSHA. I don't think that 30 psi will accomplish very much.}

I use mine @ an unregulated 160. Tools have ratings, and I go with whatever that is - 120 if I don't know.

The law for a blowgun ( OSHA ) is 30 psig. If using your own then 90 to 100 is fine providing your compressor can keep up...

If you are just blasting air. What ever the compressor will handle 100 lb 150lb what ever.
