You confuse equality of legality with equality of identity.
Why would I treat you equally if I am smarter than you? See how that works.

Everyone is different when you think about it. Within the group of men alone there is a wide spectrum of different temperments and abilities. Some men are aggressive and some men are timid. Not all men are physically strong.
So how would you go about assigning treatment based on the different qualities of men? Should you give different rights to each category? Of course not. That would create a huge imbalance of power that would not be benifical to society as a whole.
Who would do the deciding on who should get what treatment or rights? Surely whatever group that decides the rights of each group would likely be biased in favor of their own. That's why everybody should have equal rights.
Yes, men deserve the same rights as women and vice versa.

The irony of that is that women do not treat WOMEN as equals!! Men will never see women as equals, nor should they. For example - women are much more sensitive, men are more adaptable to change. These traits do not make either sex superior, just DIFFERENT. We all should be respectful of each other no matter what.
The women's fight for "equality" originally started over wages - women deserve the same pay as a man IF they are indeed doing the exact same job. That thought spread to women being hired to do traditional men's jobs.

You have lost the point dude... We are different but we are equal at the same time... Being different doesn't affect the equality between sexes. We should respect each other and accept all the advantages and disadvantages of being woman or men...
However equality is quite unfeasible in every day life... this is because people love to underestimate others (same sex or not) in order to feel superior...

Treat everyone as an individual. If you treat people differently based on being a man or woman, then you open up the issue of prejudice.
If Europeans and Asians are different, then why should a European treat an Asian equal, or vice versa?
If Christianity and Islam are different, then why should a Christian treat a Muslim equal, or vice versa?
Should we treat people differently based on their nationality, race, religion? Yes, for example, some cultures greet with a kiss and others shake hands. Is this equal?
Asking about equality is assigning a judgement. We're all allowed to make our own judgements in our own minds, but to act is to subject ourselves to other people's judgement. Are you prepared to have women judge you poorly if you treat them poorly?
Many men are prepared to be judged poorly by women. These men feel immune to being judged poorly by women. What makes them feel superior is based on physical strength or positions of influence.
If strength and weakness are different, then why should a strong man treat a weak man equal, or vice versa?
If adults and children are different, then why should an adult treat a child equal, or vice versa?
To ask "should" is to ask for a judgement. You have to make your own judgement on how you want to be judged by others.
The tactical reason is respect, do you respect women enough to treat them equally, to avoid being judged poorly by them? But there are non-tactical reasons also, do you love women enough to treat them equally, just because you feel that they deserve it?

Men and women are very different. This does not, however, mean that one is better than the other. All people should treat each other as they would want to be treated, regardless of gender. It has absolutely everything to do with respect.

I suppose it depends on what aspect you're talking about. Most often men and women are not treated equally.... If you're talking about having basic rights then it's a simple answer of body parts do not change the right to live free, support themselves, cook or basic humanity etc.
If you're talking about physical or emotional eqality then it's a proven fact that in MOST cases a man is physically stronger and a woman has more endurance. Yes it does break down more than that and it could go on forever, but for the sake of your question... either sex can be capable of doing anything but naturally is better at some things.

If we are talking about equality from a philosophical standpoint (or a legal one) then it becomes a matter of fairness. Women deserve the same opportunities in life that men do. To me that doesn't mean that differences between men and women cannot be acknowledged and accomodated for.

men and women are mostly socially different. We are bred (in the U.S.) to believe that men and women are radically different. Our biological differences are only sparing.
We are more alike than different and therefore respect should be given equally.

We're all human and our desire to recognised and fairly treated is very similar so equality when practised eliminates descrimination
