The people are great, probably some of the friendliest, most out going , and least pretentious people in CA. People generally have good attitudes and like to have fun here and enjoy the lifestyle.
So many different things to do, especially with places like LA, Orange County, the desert, mountains, Mexico, Vegas, ect....relatively close by.
I grew up in the Bay Area and although it's a great place to live and I love it, it's more pretentious and money obsessed and materialistic there, which SD isn't really and I like that about this place.

What I like best about San Diego is the large variety of things to do here....outdoor activities are numerous (kayaking, hiking, biking, fishing, surfing, beach volleyball).
Professional sports, theater, museums, music, night clubs,....San Diego has so much to offer.

If I had to just one thing it would be Balboa Park. It is the cultural center of the city. There are 18 museums, three legitimate theaters, the Zoo, the Fleet Science Center, miles of jogging and hiking trails, and every sort of recreational activity you could think of from lawn bowling to archery to the municipal pool all centrally located in the heart of the city.

The Zoo, the Wild Animal Park, the downtown trolley, Sea World. It's beautiful there. =]

Lots to love here, but what I like best are the great friends I've made here over the years.
I've lived in other parts of CA but my friends make this place the best place I've ever been.
For whatever reason, people here seem more open and friendly and welcoming than anywhere else I've ever been.

Everyone is chill here and down to earth. You are never bored here because there is always places to go to have fun whether it's the beaches, amusement parks, concerts, historical landmarks, the list goes on....

Its easy not to stay there cuz it sucks but its better then L.A..
