the trap & run and gun?

No, I think that there are more than two styles of hockey. "Puck posession" indicates a team that is methodiacal about the way they attack the zone. They avoid dump-ins and their offense is a direct result of good outlet passes from the defensive zone. The trap is actually a defensive system and not necessarily an indicator of the offensive style of a team. Trying to break play style down to two types is an over-simplification. A team may change styles during the course of a game depending on the score. A trap team will open up progressivly if they are behind and a more offensive minded team begins to limit their forechecking when they open up a lead.

I think you have run and gun lines, and trapping lines, and fore checking lines. that's always been 3 basic lines depending on talent.
