cynical (below) I'm looking through databases and cannot find this vote cited on the link you provided. Help me find the actual vote as the page may be inaccurate. I'm not trying to defend Obama in any way. I just want the facts.

I depise, Hillary Clinton, for one, because of this matter. I am not going to say that as a Christian, I am not permitted to believe in abortion, I am going to lay it out on the line that abortion is wrong. What gives any person the right to kill an unborn innocent Child? We put people on death row for raping young women, and we are going to put a baby on the same level as a rapist, No that isn't right! I am appalled at Any one who even thinks of abortion, to kill a baby is to take something away from this earth, and to deprive an innocent child of a life, and an opportunity! And that my friends is that. I do not at all respect anyone who believes, commits, or is associated with abortion, because they are murders, I am a strong Christian Women, and anyone who gets all testy with my answer, can go elsewhere, because no apologies are going to be handed out! It is no that hard to use protection, and anyone who doesn't just thinks of abortion as a simple way out, they are irrosponsible neglegent people, it is not right. There is a limit to women impowerment.

Almost every Democrat running for president with the exception of Biden voted against banning partial birth abortion. Obama also voted no and said "he trusted women with that decision". I can tell you that most pro-choicers do not support late term abortion as it is a danger to the woman. So even some pro-choice people consider those votes to be wrong it looks like they were just pandering not really thinking about the issue.

I believe in a woman's right to choose, but not in late term abortions that might cause suffering to an almost term fetus. If a mother's life is in danger, that would be different. I don't know about penalties for anyone who performed the procedure, I have a problem with all laws about abortion made by men who will never be pregnant.
I wonder how many of them paid for such a procedure for a girlfriend or somebody else?

For Hillary to vote NO on this is to testify that she is a doctrinaire, unthinking lefty.

Absent the matter of a mother's life being in danger, this is very close to infanticide since it has to take place very late in the pregnancy and is an especially gruesome procedure. This has nothing to do with the Right to Life people's belief that life starts at conception.

What's the limit for Hillary? The day before birth, the day after? Prom night?

this is way too complex to simply vote yes or no. for the record I am pro-choice, though I strongly feel that woman should have it together enough to exercise their right to abortion within the first 3 months. having said that, I understand that lots of women are quite irresponsible about sex, birth control and what's going on with their lives. SOOOO . . . it's not going to do much good to ban "partial births" (nasty term but accurate) since a woman will go to any lengths if desperate enough.

Perhaps if there were less hoopla from the so-called moral majority (which is fact neither) women would more readily seek abortion during that first trimester. We would also do well to remember that partial-births are probably very infrequent, though precised reporting is not in place, for obvious reasons. Who wants their clinic wasted and their personnel harassed by the MM?

Partial birth abortions are the most sick and disgusting thing one human can do to another and should be illegal. On the other hand I support abortion in the early stages and not to be used as birth control. If you have ever seen pictures of partial birth abortions you would agree that it is very inhumane. I won't go into the gory details but I would hope that every woman who ever had one would have to look at that baby.
If Hillary supports it then I have lost my respect for her.

my inclination is to encourage all to avoid abortions.

i don't want to compel people to do or not to do.

this is what the issue has become, who can force someone into a certain position is submission.

no one wants to be told by others what to do.

also the right left, red blue angle make the issue even more sensitive
