Here's the problem, when the laundry gets done, my jeans always come out lighter. I dont want super light jeans. There's no beahc used, all that's used is soap, so why are my jeans getting lighter in colour without bleach. they look bad now, they looked better darker, but why are my jeans always coming out lkighter each wash? is there a way to stop this? These jeans are worth a lot of money and i hate to see them get lighter and ruined.

Soap (Detergent) is the number one cause of clothes fading. So get a soap that says "color safe" on the label, like Cheer, but not all of them are color safe. Some contain bleach and will fade your dark clothes. I use cheap detergent on my regular clothes like towels, sheets, etc. But when it comes to dark colors I use Color Safe Cheer. Yes, its does cost alittle more but well worth it.

Probably poor quality dye. Best bet is to wash in cold water, such as Cheer, cold water, with color guard.
Former soap rep.
Could also be that the jeans are knock offs. Did you buy from a ligit store?

Wash your jeans in cold water and turn them inside out befor putting them in the wash. You might also want to look into detergents that are formulated for dark clothes Like Ultra Cheer with color guard ( http://www.cheer.com/laundry-detergents/dark-formula-detergent.shtml ).
If all fails and you want to get color back into your jeans use some RIT dye ( http://www.ritdye.com/home.lasso )

Good luck!

Some jeans fade with washing. Do you wash in hot water? If so, switch to warm or cold.

Don't use any laundry soap that has even color bleach in it. Try cheer, And also wash in cold and turn them inside out.

the first thing i thought of was did you follow the exact instructions on your pants label? another thing you can do is wash them inside out in cold water to keep the color from bleeding
