sounds like it could be that the computer or laptop has 2GB of ram. But the shared part could mean that the RAM is shared with the onboard graphics card. [meaning less available for the computer generally as the gfx is using some].

it is telling you that the onboard video cards shares memory with ur computer. video cards when u buy them at the store, come with their own memory.
