well, i have a evga nvidia 680i sli motherboard and a core 2 quad 2.4ghz cpu. im in the process of overclocking my cpu and was wondering how hot it would have to be to fry. the mother board and the cpu.

they both fry about 80-100c.

at about 80-100 degrees C but i believe most motherboards have a feature that will shutdown your computer when it gets too hot! which you should definately enable.

you should definately get a non-stock heatsink and fan for your cpu if you intend on overclocking as they'll desipate heat better possibly increasing the maximum stable overclock speed
