a while back there was controversy with the beatles label 'apple' and apple records and apple pcs (imac, ipod, etc.) had a big lawsuit and applt pc's won so the apple records (beatles) still had hard feelings so they refuse to put their music on itunes...go to wikipedia im not 100% accurate but that IS in fact the problem.
just with little detail...

iTunes is an apple organization and The Beatles and Apple don't... like each other... The Beatles have sued Apple several times over the logo, as they take it as copyright infringement on their publication company.

Because Apple Computer (Charts) have yet to strike a deal allowing them to sell their music.
Also maybe a bit of sour grapes. Remeber the law suit between Apple and Apple Corps. Apple Corps, owned by Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, along with the widow of John Lennon and the estate of George Harrison — wanted to win an injunction to prevent Apple Computer using the apple logo in connection with its iPod and iTunes products.

in all seriousness, itunes and the beatles got in a legal battle so they wont allow apple to put it on itunes. its retarded.

Whoever owns the rights to their catalog hasn't authorized iTunes to sell digital copies of their music yet. It's coming soon, though--the deal is very close.
