Why is alek wek a model? I cannot see her as being atractive. I know there are better looking black african women than that. why was she chosen? How is she beautiful?

No, andrea, you are wrong on this. I do consider dark-skin people to be beautiful. It's not that she looks african or is dark. She is just not attractive!! I mean there are other models do consider beautiful that doesn't go with american standards, {eg.oluchi onweagba.} alek wek may not super ugly ,but do people see her as attactive, she is so plain!

Sapphire, you're kind of ditsy, hon. Have you ever heard of the expression: beauty is in the eye of the beholder? What is unattractive to you may be thought beautiful to others. You should perhaps think on this a spell. To me, Alex Wek is beautiful. She is not only pretty on the outside but very lovely inside.

I think Oluchi is attractive, she is soft and feminine, but Alek...I don't think so. Maybe she is attractive to people who like the more statuesque look, but I think the majority of people consider a more feminine looking woman attractive.

To me Alek Wek is beautiful. to be honest i think that models such oluchi onweagba do slightly coincide with american standards of beauty, is she not wearing a hair weave. i admire her showing a new kind of beauty. tyra banks, naomi campbell, iman, kimora, channel iman all are what america wants to see black people looking like. i pretty sure if alek had high cheek bones, long hair and less african features you and many people like you would consider her beautiful. someone such as tyra or even naomi who is britsh but of jamaican descent are black enough and 'etnic' enough for black people to identify with them but no sooo 'ethnic' looking that white people, particulary white america will not be offended by them. Besides whose to say what beauty is?

Being a model is not really about facial features most run way models are not that beautiful case in point Kate Moss and Giselle Brundchan, being a model is more than just facial features
But she has the IT factor, I really dislike how people of the same race and ethnicity like to put down their own people.

-Slim body
-Great bone structure
-clear flawless skin
- she's tall
-and has a unique look
The woman takes some fierce pictures. She's beautiful to me.

Many high fashion models are not considered conventionally attractive. They are not doing cosmetics campaigns, they just wear clothes well.

shes beautiful... the camera loves her..... i see her as very attractive... im sure she doesnt care what anyone else thinks anyway shes very rich..... the industry cares for her very much shes a main attraction on the runway ....
